The Preschool Room serves as a gathering space for morning meeting, snack and lunch time. It has areas for writing and is stocked with art supplies. There are blocks and manipulatives to encourage hand-eye coordination, spatial relations, problem solving, and taking turns. The dramatic play has dress-up clothes, dolls, and cooking and cleaning props. We see lots of pretend play in this area and often times children process what is happening in their own lives through this dramatic play.

In the Pillow Room children can work their large muscle groups in a safe, supervised setting, as well as work through any big feelings they may have by jumping, rolling, and crushing several varieties of pillows.

The Tinkering Room is equipped with a children’s woodworking bench, open-ended materials for construction, tools for building and taking things apart, a wind tube and other simple machines.
